V8SHO Screensaver 2008 Guidelines

I think it’s just about time, so I’m going to officially begin the 2008 edition of the V8SHO screensaver. I’ve received a few requests for it lately and I already have several pictures ready to add. So break out the digital cameras and click through your photo albums and find your favorite pics of your V8SHO and send them all in.

Last year I had every intention of creating two versions of the screensaver, one would be strictly SHO’s and the other would be more for the community, and would include all images from the first one, plus any pictures submitted by our former SHO owners who now drive other vehicles. The two versions never made it out last time but since I have received a few requests for the strictly SHO version in addition to the all cars version which was released, so once again I intend to make two versions of the screensaver so anyone can download and view whichever you like.

Here are the tips and guidelines for what we’re looking for.

    Send the biggest highest quality images you can, I will resize them to keep the size of the screensaver reasonable, but its best to start with the highest possible quality.

    Photoshopped images are fine as long as the touch ups are to enhance the picture, no pictures with photoshopped mods.

    Pictures of you with your SHO are encouraged to help everyone put a face with your name!

    If you would like to have it included, make sure to send your name, city, and state when you send your pictures. It’s perfectly fine if you don’t want your name or location listed however.

    Any image you submit could be used in the screensaver, so don’t send anything if you don’t want it to be included and made available for download from the web site. Also we don’t need to get into any copyright issues so make sure you own the copyrights to the pictures you submit or have permission to submit them.

    If you want your plate number blurred out in your pictures, please try to do that before you send them to me. If you don’t have a means of doing so and you still don’t want your plates in there, let me know and I can do it.

    I can accept and work with just about any image type, but try to avoid strange obscure file types.

    Pictures of your V8SHO past or present will be included in both screensavers. Pictures of your non-SHO car will only be in the extended version. Pictures of your V8SHO with another car will be decided on a case by case basis whether or not they go in both versions, but most likely they will go into the extended version only. Since this is the V8SHO.com screensaver, Gen I or II SHO’s and SLO’s of all generations will be considered “non-V8SHO” cars. However a picture if your Gen III along with your Gen I or II is the type of mixed picture which may work nicely in both screensavers.

Sometimes there are some fantastic looking artistic pictures submitted. If a good one comes along during this update it may be featured both in the screensaver and as the screensaver’s title page which is shown first every time the screensaver loads. The person who submitted that picture can be given credit on the title screen so if you want to be immortal, submit a great picture!
