Larry,
We were recently diagnosed with a SHO Cam failure. The engine was running rough
and making a ticking noise. We were directed to this website by the Ford Service
Manager from Courtesy Ford in Syracuse, New York (315) 455-2435. The problem
determined by the dealer was "vehicle to be in need of camshaft assembly and
possible cylinder head due to cam wear, as well as unknown condition of rear cam
head and assembly will need to disassemble to determine full estimate of repair"
on 2/27/04. We've been in shock ever since. The car is registered in my wife's
name.

We've contacted the Ford Customer Assistance Center (800) 392-FORD on 3/2/04,
who was pleasant, but no help. We
also left message with the local service manager requesting contact from the
Ford Zone Rep, and no surprise, we haven't heard a word.*
We are interested in any help you can provide. We haven't driven the car for
fear of the engine catastrophically failing. We have many questions about how we
should proceed.
Thank you,
Greg and Sherryl Seigfreid
Further details pending.
*Golly there's a shocking piece of news, eh?
