Marie Simpkins Cam Failure #312

10/20/2003, updated 10/28/2003

I bought mine used from a family member about a year ago. The car only had 48,000 approximately. I was driving to the store about a 2 blocks away 45mph. I parked it shut it off. Went in store for about 20min. Then I got back in my car & it wouldn't start, I held the gas & it finally started but it would not stay running. I towed it to my house. I had a mechanic look at it & the front exhaust cam gear had gone out. Now my car is in my garage waiting to get fixed. The car has 61,000 miles. Now I am stuck with a car payment & I can't drive my car. I am very upset & unsatisfied.

Hello Larry, I spoke to you last week on my Taurus SHO, I called Rays auto shop in Warren & it will cost me $1,700.00 to fix my car, which isn't that bad but I do not have the money to get it fixed, so it will just have to sit in my garage until I can come up with the money. If there's anything you can do to help, please let me know. I am calling my bank today to see if I can take the insurance off the car or put just storage insurance on it. This is very upsetting to me & I pray & hope that FORD gets punished for not wanting to fix this problem. Any mechanic can tell you that it is a manufacture's problem!!! Thank you for all your help & I hope that u make FORD pay for what they've done.*We're going to do our best to try and get this addressed now in Federal Court. *

Sincerely,
Marie Simpkins
