Clock spring Install

New 04/16/2006

Got-er-done! I went ahead and assumed the adjustment was good with the retainer and did not go through the adjustment process and everything checked OK once the battery was hooked up and switch turned on. One note for would be clockspring replaces, there is a retainer that sits around the hole that the lock cylinder slides into. This must come out in order to replace a piece of the harness and guide the harness down the column. It does not come straight out. Wiggle it as far out as you can and then using your thumb push back on the side closest to you and rotate it rearwards (in line with the column, not the cylinder) and then pull it out. It took me a while to figure that one out.
