EBay Cam Failure #1120

Presented for your review is a 1997 Ford Taurus SHO. This car is being auctioned in 'AS IS" condition. I purchased this car with the bad cam syndrome. I replaced the bad cam myself but the damage had already been done. I had a mechanic friend of mine look at it and he told me that the valves on the right or "rear" head are bent and need to be replaced. He also mentioned that the alternator was seized. He cut the belt off so he could check the engine. He started the car and it would only stay running if he kept his foot on the gas. I purchased this car as a project car but with it needing a complete rear valve replacement it's too much for me. The cam I replaced was the rear intake cam. This car needs some TLC. I believe it will make a great runner. If you have the time and facilities you could do this car justice. It needs the mentioned engine work as well as cosmetic work. The pictures show what I mean. The opening bid amount is less than the total amount I have invested in the car. I will list what I know about the car. I will not offer shipping. You must come and pick up the car. It is positioned so that a roll back can pull it right on. A couple of friends sold vehicles on ebay and the shipping was a fiasco. I offer no warranty or guarantee, implied or expressed.

The rear valves need replacing.

The alternator may need replacing.

A new belt is needed.

The body has rust in places.

The hood latch does not pop the hood. The struts may need to be replaced.

The front tires match.

The rear tires match.

The front tires do not match the rear tires.

The dash is peeled up above the cluster, see picture.

The driver's seat is worn, see picture.

There are 2 keys and both will not open the trunk. There is a button inside the car to open the trunk.

The plastic cowling panels have missing fasteners. They are still available through Ford.

There is the odd missing nut and bolt. They are not critical, easily reached and replaced. They were missing when I made the purchase.

A front and rear brake job may be needed.

The car has keyless entry but I do not know the code.

The car has a factory anti theft alarm and remote entry. There are no key fobs.

This car is also for sale locally, I reserve the right to end the auction without notice or reason.
