Terry Rupell - Cam Failures #543 & #544

New 6/6/05

Dear Madame or Sir, I recently had my SHO repaired at a final expense of $3,271.51. I had the repairs done at Faulkner ford in Quakertown, PA. Although my car was still running when I took it in to get it checked for a loud engine knock, I was informed by the service advisor (John Ferino) that my engine had 2 broken cam shafts as a result of the cam sprocket spinning. I had to have all four cams replaced and opted for tune-up work at this time. The service advisor (John Ferino) told me that they tried to weld two other vehicles at their location with no success, so he wouldn't do it. I was assured that they could fix my engine with out welding the cams and they would give me a 12 month parts and labor warranty. His initial quote was $3000.00. I told him I probably wouldn't invest that kind of money into the car. He got back to me later with a reduced quote of $2500.00. My 1997 Taurus' vin # is 1FALP54N7VA158273.
