Best of SHO California 2004

New 10/17/2004

Well yeah, it's taken me a looong time to get to this, but I've had bigger fish to fry.
Here is, IIRC the first GIII to take best of SHO at the National Convention. I have resized the pictures so as not to kill our dial up friends.
Roger Davenport, of California, List Lurker Supreme, is to be congratulated on a superb job of prepping a car for a Concurs Judging.
Not only did he kick my a** but by popular vote took best of SHO 2004. Every bit deserved. When you look at his sick attention to detail, you'll have to agree. You'll also notice mods that could have only been done if someone were sniping the List. (Had to Rog, sure you'll understand)

Yours Truly was quite surprised to take Second Place, and there was actually a tie for third with Tony Fullone, President of SHOCAGO and Kenny Kopecky from Ames IA taking Third.
Without further delay, observe.......

                                                                                                    Roger and Dawn

2nd Place - Ain't so bad considering......

Tony and Kenny's cars

Kenny's            Tony's                L-R: Tony, Kenny

Roger, and Unc Lar, Darn he's tall!!

Carter - you got a long way to go buddy!!!!

Larry,

Just one correction, Roger won "best of SHOw, JUDGED" First time a Gen III took that honor. A gen I took best of SHOw popular vote.

Great pics!
Don Mallinson

Thanks Don, that is an important distinction.

Okay, that's just got to be the cleanest car I have ever seen. I can't beleive the underside! I guess it helps to be in the same state? I would have been hard pressed to keep Whoosh that good looking after 1,700 miles.
I certainly do applaud Roger and Dawn on getting the Gen 3 into the recognition of BOS!
Wonder where the hints of yellow came from???

Larry,

I haven't gone through my video yet, but I thought that Bob Jacob was Best Of Show (black '90), or was Bob the People's Choice and Roger was the Judges Choice?

CRS!! (That's why you need Mark's DVD!!)

The level of detail and cleanliness of that car makes me want to go out and dump mine in a ditch somewhere... yikes...

The car looked super clean, BUT in all fairness, its a Cali car vs a Midwest "SNOmobile" you guys drive the SHO in the winter correct ?? You drove how many miles to get to the Convention ?? Not trying to rain on anyones Parade, just offering a little perspective. Does anyone remember when Bill Stroebel was an actual Participant versus being the "Judge" now you want to talk about sick detail, He even knows that on a "93" the paint marks are different color depending on Manual or Auto. That is "Sick" Detailing. Again congrats on the best of show,

John Stout
