Larry, I would like to thank everyone who is involved in this website and the lawsuit. had it not been for this site and the related sites our 97 SHO would probably have become a statistic to add to the failure list. I contacted Al Fitz in Grand Island, NE.308-380-8163. Al said that he has a warehouse of SHO parts He uses a mechanic named Jered at Mick and Jered's Quality auto, 308-384-2855.
Jered welded the cam shafts, changed the plugs & oil. He also cleaned the surge tank and cleaned and ported upper and lower intake and intake runners going into heads, and cleaned intake valves and ports. I have a vague technical idea of the cleaning and porting process that he did. My mechanical days are behind me back in the 60's and 70's.
The upshot of the repairs is that it runs like a new car, and it has 137,000 mostly highway miles. Cost $790.00 including tax.
